A bit about me:
I started working in the community services sector approximately 17 years ago as a Support Worker. Initially, my work was not limited to any specific field within the sector. I worked within aged care, disability, children’s services, community, and social supports.
I have various qualifications: a Diploma in Disability, Management, and Counselling; a Cert 4 in Training/Assessment; and additional qualifications in Community Service and Aged Care. I found my passion was working in Disability, where I have spent the past 15 years in a variety of roles, predominantly Service Delivery and Coordination of Supported Independent Living. I am currently working as a HALO Coordinator where my experience and skill sets can make the biggest difference.
What inspires me to do what I do:
I find it rewarding contributing to making a difference for participants, families, and staff.
The most rewarding part of my role is...
Working in a team who provide opportunities to help others participate in community activities, building skills and the capacity to live their best life. Promoting advocacy and active participation to access information and services that is everyone's basic human right.
A fun fact about me:
Footy - I am passionate about AFL, I have a very black and white approach to this. I also have a large family and love spending time with my grandchildren.
