Heidi Schnuetgen

My experience:
Working in disability wasn’t my original career plan. I started off working in a temporary role, but it didn’t take a lot of time to realise I had a passion for advocating for people with disability and providing quality support. I have now worked in the sector for over 14 years, and have experience across multiple areas – including intense medical and high support settings, extreme complex behaviours and everything in between. I now work in Flexible Supports.

What inspires me to do what I do:
Seeing people achieve goals and ultimately breaking through barriers.

The most rewarding part of my role is...
Meeting so many amazing people along the way, from all different walks of life and backgrounds.

A fun fact about me:
I like to build and do house renovations (I am self taught); and I love gardening and off road travel.
