Emma Rundle
My experience:
I have been a support worker with Access4u for the last 2.5 years where I built strong relationships with the people I supported and their families. I have been working as a Provisional Psychologist for the last 6 months.
Since graduating with my Honours degree in Psychological Science at university, I have been practising as a behaviour support practitioner and provisional psychologist where I have been given the opportunity to support people’s mental health and wellbeing, determine the functions of thoughts and behaviours, identify individual needs, and develop behavioural strategies.
What inspired me to do what I do:
During years 11 and 12 at high school is where I found that I had a real passion for the brain and behaviour, and that’s when I decided I would like to choose Psychology as a career pathway. I wanted to be able to make a change in people’s lives and help them overcome emotional and behavioural challenges.
Areas of expertise/interest:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Depression
- OCD
- Trauma
The most rewarding part of my role is…
Making a real difference in the lives of the participants that I work with and their families. I also find great joy in seeing participants make progress and overcome challenges. The opportunity to meet and work with a fantastic bunch of people is a bonus!
What I do in my free time:
Outside of Access4u, you will always catch me doing something– I am rarely relaxing or by myself.
