My experience:
I am a newcomer to support coordination after moving to this role at the beginning of the year. My experience comes from supporting my son through four NDIS plan reviews, and proudly helping him move into his own accommodation 18 months ago. My previous job involved managing and facilitating vocational education and training, including pre-employment, disability and CALD.

What inspired me to do what I do:
Having a lived experience of disability, I felt grateful for the supports provided for my own son which continue to enable him to recognise his potential, achieve his goals and his dream of living independently. I wanted to give something back and provide support to people often overwhelmed by the prospect of navigating the NDIS.

The most rewarding part of my role is…
There are daily wins with support coordination. It is a role where relationships are formed, joys and challenges shared and ultimately an immense sense of achievement. Every day I meet wonderful people.

A fun fact about me:
I am a qualified lecturer in wine studies, so happy to run wine evaluation sessions on the side if the funding stretches that far!
