Access4u is registered NDIS provider based in Adelaide however, since our inception, we have also worked closely with the Thailand government and relevant industry bodies, to share our knowledge and resources and help those across the globe build capacity and independence.
Our CEO, Cathy Miller, is especially passionate about Access4u's global impact. With decades of experience in the disability industry and a vast knowledge about the ageing space, she is well placed to speak about the topic at large, and the tactics and tools organisations can implement to ensure individuals have an enhanced quality of life.
Cathy went on multiple trips to Thailand in 2024, engaging with industry bodies and government officials, to work collaboratively on Thailand's approach to their ageing population.
During 2024, members of our leadership team - including Cathy Miller; Karyn McCue, Manager Home and Living Options; and Joe Gannon, Senior Manager Specialist Services, presented a 3-day workshop, which was organised and hosted by Thailand's Department of Older Persons (DOP) and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
Each Access4u team member drew upon their experience within the disability and ageing sectors respectively. Their vast knowledge enabled them to present this topic with a unique standpoint and showcase thought-provoking information and ideas.
The presentation focused on daily living improvement, capacity enhancement and independence, as well as in-home support and encouraging ageing in place. It also covered positive behaviour support and dementia care.
This was a fantastic opportunity to pass on important information to changemakers, to help support the local government, practitioners, and others in the sector to make positive change in Thailand.
We are excited to work with the Thailand government in 2025 and beyond, helping them to weave our knowledge and resources into practice, to help others around the world.
