Access4u has launched a new campaign called the Empowerment Sessions, a workshop designed to build practical life skills for NDIS participants living in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide.
The campaign will span across 12 months, starting in August 2025, and will focus on building a different skill set across each workshop.
The set of workshops will kick off with a session on the importance of setting goals and the steps to put in place to achieve them, and will boast several interactive activities for participants and their Mentors (also known as Support Workers) to participate in.
Bri Price, Access4u’s Disability Services Manager – Northern Suburbs and Surrounds, is excited about launching this project in the north, after identifying a need for the new service.
“I often find participants say to me that they want to explore other activities that are more in line with their NDIS goals,” Bri says. “They get tired of doing the same activities over and over—they want to try new things!”
“That’s why we thought the monthly workshops were a great idea—participants get to explore new activities and learn new life skills in a safe and supportive environment, with the support of their Mentor.”
NDIS participants are encouraged to bring along their Mentors, as the campaign also aims to equip Mentors with the tools and strategies to offer more goal-focused, person-centred support.
“The campaign is also about encouraging Mentors to think about new ways to engage participants to enable them to reach their goals,” she says. “It’s all about creating person-centred support.”
The Empowerment Series will be held at The Hive Community Resource Hub in Burton.
RSVPs are essential as spots are limited.
All sessions will run from 1-3pm, with light refreshments being provided.
Other session topics include: Communication and Self Advocacy, Healthy Relationships and Boundaries, Money and Budgeting, Digital Literacy and Food and Nutrition.
At this stage, the sessions are only open to Access4u customers, but may expand to other NDIS participants if demand is sufficient.
Participants and Mentors are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Bri Price by emailing
