Customer Story: Meet Ruby, the Social Butterfly!

Access4u customer, Ruby, has been supported by Access4u for several years, and currently works with a Mentor once a week. Ruby is a bright and sociable young woman, who enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and fiance. She's an active spokesperson and advocates for those in her community to make a difference.

Ruby keeps herself busy with a lot of hobbies and work. When she's not running her own business as a professional speaker, she is working at Flinders University as a Community Researcher, where her roles is to talk to people with disabilities.

Ruby is also a Board Member at Purple Orange, an organisation tha motivates and supports people with disabilities to learn more about relevant opportunities and experiences. In addition to this, Ruby is also a member of the Minister's Disability Advisory Council.

Beyond her busy schedule, Ruby has a strong interest in music and fashion. Her interest in fashion and styling has led to her regularly being asked who designs her clothes. She would love to design her own clothes one day and run classes for those who also share a passion for fashion!

Ruby still has many more goals and is currently planning her wedding.

With the assistance of Access4u Mentor, Tia, Ruby practises household management skills including day-to-day organisation, household chores, cooking, cleaning and paying the bills, as well as navigating public transport. In her spare time, Ruby enjoys walking and exercising to keep fit and healthy.

Ruby's lifestyle does indeed keep her busy with a lot of hobbies and all those advocacy roles. No wonder she refers to herself as 'Social Butterfly'!
