Adelaide Fringe Shows to Watch in 2025

We've put together a list of Fringe shows to watch in 2025, spotlighting those created by people with lived experience of disability.

Check out our list below....

OUTSIDE IN

Matt is a 35-year-old 10-Pin bowling champ, a master of 'mash n gravy' at his KFC job, has performed as the Grinch at Movieworld, slays an Eminem rap, can quote any WWE fact or speech, and cruises around the Gold Coast on his electric scooter in underwear that matches the day of the week. And he has autism.

In his show, Matt invites you to share in his personal story and understanding of the world through an emotional "Pixar-like" kaleidoscope of joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear.

"By letting you into my mind from the outside-in, my hope is that you will be changed from the inside-out."

ABUNDABILITEEZ PRODUCTIONS is a disability led production company and is extremely proud to premiere this show as its first professional project.

Em & Maddie Solve Your Problems

Got a problem? Em & Maddie are here to help!

Em and Maddie are two unapologetically Disabled Queer girlies in their 30s. They ain't got nothing figured out, except that they love to be the centre of attention. And when it comes to dishing out unsolicited advice, they're all over it!

So expect the unexpected (and some good laughs) as Em and Maddie solve ya problems, big or small. Everyday ableism? Ridiculous situationships? Housemate dramas? Out of control pets? And just how much is too much Taylor Swift?

Come find out what all the fuss is about and why Sydney Fringe Festival awarded them the 'Adelaide Fringe Tour Ready Award Winner' and finalist for Best Comedy Show.

Administration

A one-person darkly comedic play about growing up autistic (and not knowing it).

Stumbling into a therapist's office with a stack of paperwork, (and stories to match) Addy recounts what it was like to grow up in a small town Catholic school. Through vignettes from Addy's life, we come to realise the impact your environment can have on coming to accept who you are. We experience how someone may learn to abandon their childhood curiosity and natural expression in favour of an exterior mask: the polar opposite of the internal world.

'Administration' welcomes you into a space where we can come together and laugh at some shared experiences.

The Heart Beat Club - Disability Club Night

If you like to party, dance to DJ’s, hang out with friends, have a good time in a safe environment then you should come to The Heart Beat Club!

HEART BEAT CLUB:
1. A club night run by and for learning disabled people, their friends and allies.
2. The Heartbeat Club is run by the Beats Crew, a group of learning-disabled people.

“We want to have a more active and ‘age appropriate’ social life including club nights. We are running our own proper club night so we can have fun and stay up late. Spend fun time with friends. Do it our way. Show our talents. Beatbox on stage. DJ on stage. Dance. Dress up. Feel safe. Make our Club awesome.” - The Beats Crew

Vistas and Visions of a Blind Man: Adventures in A 'EYE'

This exciting, original, multi-arts Fringe event will engage and delight you from start to finish.

Iconoclastic and totally blind Covid poet Tony Doyle, who can’t read his own poems, uses an AI simulation of his voice to recite a selection of his poems, which will be interspersed with his ‘blind humour’ and live music from ‘Orchid’ a multi-instrumental music ensemble of talented musicians which has been created for this project and, includes a number of original pieces. It’s music which won’t blast your ears off.

The aim of this show is to make you laugh and cry with everything in between; whatever your reactions, the live music will soothe your heart and soul.

This disability friendly event is part of an Arts SA funded project.

Project Vulcan

The Story of Vulcan is one of determination and redemption. After being cast aside for being born imperfect, Vulcan is raised on Earth to become a great artist and blacksmith whilst living with a physical disability. The cast is made up of fine Tasmanian actors with intellectual and physical disabilities who have devised this play about their identity as Tasmanians and Australians. As representatives of the younger generation, they give voice to issues of bushfire prevention and conservation, global warming, disability rights and self-determination.

Combining theatre, puppetry, music and projection, our players will inspire you and call you into action no matter your age, gender or ability.
