My experience:
I started working in the disability sector straight out of high school as a fresh faced 18 year old. Since then, I have worked in various roles and supported a vast group of people throughout all aspects of life. I have worked in sector for many years and there’s nothing better than working alongside likeminded people who stive for the best possible outcomes for the clients they support!
What inspires me to do what I do:
I have always had a passion for caring for others. From a young age I only ever had two career choices, disability services or midwifery. 20 years later and I’m still doing something I love and am passionate about.
The most rewarding part of my role is...
Supporting people and their families to achieve their goals and live a fulfilling and harmonious life. I genuinely love being a part of the progress and being able to witness positive outcomes for everyone. Even the smallest of wins makes everything we do as Support Coordinators worthwhile!
A fun fact about me:
I love sports! I started netball at age 8 and basketball at 10 and am still playing both. I’m the Mum on the sideline who will cheer on every person on the team. I love watching kids get a win (and not necessarily just on the scoreboard) and most weekends I can either be found at an oval or in a basketball stadium watching my kids. As tiring as it is, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
