A bit about me:
I have now been working in the disability sector for around 8 years, I started off as a Support Worker and gradually worked up to a SSW and overseen multiple programs. I then took sometime time off and had children before returning to the disability sector as a Senior Manager focusing on the intakes and referrals, setting up houses and managing SIL/Respite houses. Which now brings me to Access4u working in Support Coordination and continuing to assist participants to achieve their goals.
What inspires me to do what I do:
What inspires me the most is being able to assist participants to gain the skills and knowledge to enable them to make decisions affecting their lives to also be able to live as independently and happy as possible.
The most rewarding part of my role is...
The most rewarding part of this work for me is when a participant reaches their goals that they have been working hard towards and knowing I have been able to be a part of this by supporting them and assisting them with the skills and knowledge to be able to reach this outcome.
