My experience:
After working in administrative roles across various sectors, including finance, education, medical and allied health, I first entered the NDIS world working for a plan manager 3 and half years ago. I was quick to recognise I wanted to continue working within disability and began my Diploma in Community Services. I have also worked in Disability Client Services with one of South Australia’s largest providers and have been with Access4u since September in my role as a Support Coordinator.
What inspires me to do what I do:
Being a Support Coordinator means having the opportunity to guide participants as they navigate the NDIS landscape. I am inspired by the individual perspectives and experiences each of my client’s share with me as part of the process, and love being able to tailor their supports to enable them to work towards their goals and create new ones.
The most rewarding part of my role is…
Supporting my clients to access interventions that can make impactful differences on how they choose to live their lives. It is the interactions with them, where we work together and see real progress, which keeps me engaged and enthusiastic. I love celebrating their wins and feel privileged to be included in these meaningful moments.
A fun fact about me:
When I am not at work, I am spending my time with my three children or escaping them by doing yoga. I also love to cook and have ridiculously long conversations with my favourite people. If I need some quiet time you can find me taking a beach walk, with or without my cavoodle, Mia.
