My experience:
I started working at the NDIA in 2017 and was involved in all areas of service delivery. Planner, Planner Delegate, Access and Access Internal Review. This has fortunately given me a very good overall experience of what the NDIS was establish for. I have now been a Support Coordinator with Access4u for two years.
What inspires me to do what I do:
My background is private industry. I established a few businesses and felt that I could utilize these skills to support people with a disability to live a normal life.
The most rewarding part of my role is…
Having now worked with my participants for two years. There is a mutual respect and I have been able to help them grow with their understanding of the NDIS and support them through the process. I have also been able to assist in establishing the supports that the NDIS and other providers are responsible for.
A fun fact about me:
I operate Airbnb from my home which provides me with very interesting experiences and conversations. I love my beautiful Golden Retriever and children. (Notice I put my dog first.) I also enjoy spending time with friends, being at the beach, gardening and dancing. Well, I call it dancing but you can be the judge of that.
